MY STORY

When I was a kid growing up on Long Island, they called graphic design "commercial art", and I assumed that's what I would do when I grew up. Growing up happens over time, hopefully, and I am indeed a commercial artist. After university in Connecticut, earning a BA in fine arts with a focus on graphic design, I worked in package graphic design and stumbled into animation via Adobe Flash for websites. I moved to Paris for a couple years and worked on the marketing team for a software company. When I wasn't on the road worldwide giving presentations I would mock up interactive software demos in Flash for the sales team. When I moved to Los Angeles via Burning Man, my buddy there was a post producer on TV shows, he asked if I thought I could make animations for TV? I said "Yes!". Sink or swim, I figured it out with a lot of help. And boom, 5 seasons of making graphics for a weekly news magazine show on PBS focused on California happened. That lead to reality TV, then network graphics, next came video game marketing, add in some theatrical marketing and documentaries, next a gig at a busy direct response advertising agency, making broadcast and digital spots. In late 2022 I relocated with my family to Nashville and continue to make high quality graphics for ad agencies, production companies, brands, etc.
